want a tw30 2wd , nh-8870 2wd or puma 195 2wd
i want to start a farm but all the land here has pine trees, so i would have to kill a good bit of them. so i was thinking these trees are 2-5"s in diameter couldnt i use a disc harrow a large 15ft one, or i know rough cut mowers can cut to 6"'s. or a box blad, blade , & you could always torch it but it's 91 acres?.or could this wood be sold an let someone cut them ?

Might consider hiring or renting something in the line of dozer..trees and stumps remove also ground level.

I doubt you could sell trees that size even for pulpwood as the cost would be too high to be profitable.

Even if you did "bush hog" them, you would still have to deal with the root system. Even though they don't have much of a system, it would interfere with field prep.

You are probably going to have to rent some bigger equipment or pay to have it done.

There is nothing easy in farming.

I realize that you just want to clear the land and are not planning to transplant them but here is my experience with pines.
Pine roots run shallow and often grow in sandy soil. Pulling them will remove the roots also. I transplant pines (white pine) when the diameter at the base is 2 inches or less. I actually pull them by hand which gets all the roots so transplanting is easy. I have pulled hundreds by hand over the years from the woods to transplant in my lawn area. I estimate a 90 percent survival rate after transplanting. These trees I pull by hand are 2 inch diameter and 5 to 6 feet tall so pulling trees up to about 8 inches in diameter with a tractor, especially if you plan to trash them anyways is easy and no roots or stumps to deal with.

The best way to remove pine trees of that size is to pull them with a trector with a chain with a noose strap around the base of the tree. The roots will upend and you can drag the tree to where ever you want.

They don't do biomass in that area? Btu's are btu's. I just saw a large plot of alders and other scrub cleared and chipped for hog fuel at the local mills.

If it's land in middle Georgia you are looking for, there is really no need to buy wooded land that would need clearing. It's more work than you need to do. There is PLENTY of open / farm land for sale right now at much cheaper prices than wooded land. You can get better pricing than those that you linked also. Best thing to do right now is talk to the banks and get lists of forclosed property. They are often willing to get rid of it for half of what they forclosed on it for. Do you have any contacts with banks?
