The basics would be that the tank holds water, the pump works and the sprayers do their thing.

I've been looking for a decent priced used sprayer, and have had no luck at all. I'm debating between buying new and building my own, but sure wish a used one will turn up that doesn't cost as much as the new ones.

How many gallons, what type of pump and what is the price?

I took a better look at it yesterday. I could not bring it home from the neighbors as there is a sleeve over the lift pins making it to large for my lift arms the tank looks solid though and the pump turns. I hope to get it here for do a better test over the week end. He wants $200 for it and it looks like another $100 to get it running.

I have a couple of used 100 gallon sprayers. One I have had for more than thirty years. The other, somebody else had for 25 or so, and I have had for ten. When I was using them regularly, I sort of did "progressive" maintanance on them, and didn't have to fix too much stuff at once. They both sat out unused for a few years, and when I needed one last year, there was so much to be done that I said to heck with it and just bought a new 50 gallon sprayer from TS. I really didn't need 100 gallons, and I have so much trouble working on stuff now with carpal tunnel in both hands, and I needed to use the sprayer "right now", so I sprung for the new one. Usually, trouble with the old booms being bent or rusted through is the biggest problem I run into on a used one.

This is the one I was going to try to resurrect. The booms were just gone when my brother bought it at a sale for me to repair. I had it rigged with a piece of pipe a few years back, but that never worked very well.

My advice----get a new one.

I got the Sprayer home and did some testing. The pump works great after I put the inlet hose on the inlet side and the outlet on the outlet side.
I have to replace some hoses which seemed to have disintegrated in the sun, is there a better UV stable hose?
I also have to replace one valve which also disintergrated in the sun. I use a product called 303 on my plastic canoe to protect it would this work on thes parts?

If you're fussy and have lots of money order some hose from a sprayer manufacturer. If not, go to a commercial hose supply place and buy some major brand name stuff rated to 150-200 psi. I've asked for uv-rated sprayer hose before and my local farm supply place sent me cheaper no-name hose than I bought from the local industrial place. Even the big-name hose makers don't seem to like to promote their stuff as uv-rated though.

303 canoe stuff? Haven't a clue, but maybe I need some for my canoe and kayak... :) Might not hurt on my plastic spray tanks, too.
