I seriously considered a Mule last year, but the dealer wanted essentially what was list price. He discounted it several hundred dollars and then added back dealer prep, delivery, etc. The out the door price (without tax) was abount $100 under MSRP as listed on the web site. The other dealer in Asheville wanted list price PLUS dealer fees, freight, etc
His reply was that Kawasaki has artificially low MSRP prices and the dealers stick to them. He said JD has very high MSRP so the dealers can offer 10% or more off list price. It doesn't matter which way you figure it, the prices for similar models end up being fairly close within $300. It boils down to whether you want a Japanese model with a bench seat or JD with bucket seats. They both had the same engine (Kawa) when I was doing my initial comparisons.
Two of my neighbors bought Mules from the same dealer and both paid approx list price. Don't expect much give on pricing. The price you on the website is what you will pay +/- $100
