Hello,
I am wondering what the best thing is to put on tractor tires to prevent cracking (from the sun etc.)
Not that it matters, but the front ones are 11.2-24 and the backs are 16.9-30. The backs are cracked now because they are several years old and I'm guessing they sat in the sun. They don't leak though. Since I just got the tractor I'm thinking of covering up the tires in the summer since it wont be used as much. But other than that what can I spray on them that will stop them from drying out? Any tips appreciated thanks

Keeping them out of the sun is all I have ever heard. Maybe a non petroleum based oil once or twice a year might help too?? Like lets say cooking oil? I'm totally guessing here.

I read somewhere tires shouldn't be exposed to (ozone) welding fumes so if you weld in the shop where your tractors parked move it out while welding. Other than that keep em out of the sun is about all you can do. I believe that the armorall type products are appearance products only not a protectant.
