What type of tires?

It needs new rear tires.

I never plan to put an FEL on it.

R1 or R4?

I will use the tractor for landscaping (box blade & york rake), tilling and someday mowing. And of course other general tasks.

I have 63 acres, and the land is flat, soil is sandy loam that gets very muddy, but dries out very quickly.

I have a Ford 575D TLB with Titan R4's, and have never had a traction problem, however that is a 4WD machine, big difference.

I would say R-1 but you do say "someday" you will be mowing with it. The R-1 most likely will not be your best tire for mowing.

Anything other than lawn work....I'll say R-1 everytime.

That said, I don't have a lot of experience and others may disagree.

Swap tires with the one setting next to it.

I would stay with R1's also. Its tough to do real work with R4's, especially on a 2 wheel drive tractor. Plus you would probably have to get new wheels also really making the cost go up.

Have to agree with DiamondPilot, I have R1s, R4s and even one with orchard tires. R4s work pretty well on a 4WD, but for a 2WD, I would pick the R1. I mowed my yard for years with a Ford NAA with R1/Ag and as long as it was dry, I did no damage to the lawn.

I have r4 industrials on mine, still tears up the grass if I turn too hard or fast, If I had it to do over again would have went with the Ag tires for the improved traction, but then I don't do much mowing, just hoggin under the trees and such.
