I think the book is a good primer and the author clearly knows what he is talking about. I was just pointing out that there was more than a little evidence that he was biased.
I have nothing against sythetics (use them in my SUV per manufacturer's specs) but I haven't seen any of the tractor manufacturers specifically recommend sythetics and more importantly none of them have specified different oil change intervals if you do use synthetics. It seems a really dumb idea to use synthetics and still change oil at the same intervals you would for dino. Until the manufacturers change their tune I'll stick with my case of Rotella T.
