I had a Hampshire boar get pretty good sized to the point breeding was hard for him. I advertised him for sale with no takers ...talking over the phone with my uncle, he says ya know your grand dad cut alot of big boars ... anyway to shorten this... we cut him, long and low put him on 90 days of corn and then off to the best German Sausage House we could find...weighed in at 610 lbs!!!
65 lbs of smoked german sausage, 65 lbs of Bodine Cajun sausage, 65 lbs of Beer Brats, 65 Lbs of season breakfast sausage, 24 lbs of bacon, the balance is split and quartered hams and ham hocks... the wife who came from the city was concerned he would taste like a boar. NOT... some of the best eating one could imagine... so if you need that big boy held and cut ...I can tell you how to do it.
