What us version of the JD 750 or other variations of that 755,850,855 does the yanmar grey tractor segment offer? my neighbor has an 84 model 750 and i was wondering his is a 18hp is what the manual says??
There is no crossover to the 750. The YM2500 is very very close to the JD850. The 755 and 855 were hydrostatic tractors that were built by Deere using Yanmar engines.
The 750 is rated at 20 hp with it's 3 cylinder diesel. The YM1700 is also a 20hp but has a 2 cylinder diesel engine and is about 200 lbs lighter. There is the YM1720 that is a 20hp 3 cylinder and yest it does have power shift.
Does anyone carry the 1820 or anything that small with the powershift? My neighbors is about the perfect size to mow around. or something a tad bit bigger or smaller like 1720/2020?
I did a search and found this old post, I have a YMG1800D and its engine is a 3T80U-SB, seen on this post the John Deere 750 has the same engine. I need to install a block heater and there is a dealer close to me so I thought I would check with them, the question is I have read about threaded holes on the exhaust side which I see but they look to be approx. 1" and also have the frost plug on the intake side, which side should I use?
No definite answer for you but I believe the AR87167 heater has 1" npt threads. Looking at my ym2002d engine (3t80u-nap) it has 2 plugs on the exhaust side that are appx that size. Only plugs I can see on the intake side are freeze plugs. Don't think you could use those. This attached drawing shows the heater and of course a different installation.
