Dumped a 24 lb bucket of feed in the dirt in the shed. This stuff is really fine, almost like cornmeal. Fred was watching.
"Whatcha gonna do now...?" He asked grinning.
I put my hands on my hips and then I was inspired. I went around and opened the hen yard door and then went back to the shed.
"Chick..chick...chick...c'mon chickens!"
Here came a hundred some odd chickens, filled up the shed, climbing all over each other, so I kicked the feed out in a line. Ten minutes later the feed was cleaned up.
A few hours later I let the pot of beans burn on the stove. Oh crud. They were for father's day dinner.
Fred wrinkled his nose, looked in the pot.
"Whatcha gonna do now...?
I reached in the cabinet and took out two quart jars of beans that I canned a few months ago, grabbed a fresh pot and dumped them in it.
"Huh" He said, then went back to his races on t v.
After dinner I forgot that it was Jake's dish night, let him go off down the road knowing that he wouldn't be back til ten oclock. Before Fred could ask his favorite question I filled up the sink with soapy water and did the dishes.
Later that evening a little storm blew in, the satellite signal went out due to the heavy cloud cover, leaving Fred in the middle of watching 'Ransom' with Mel Gibson.
"Whatcha gonna do now....? I asked.
"Danged if I know." He said, staring at the 'searching for signal' message on the screen forlornly.
I went into the bedroom and got the copy of Ransom I recorded last month and plugged it into the VCR.
"I love you, you know that?" He said, finger on the fast forward button.
"I love you too."
Nobody can toot my horn as well and as loudly as I can. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
