What's a 2018 LS XR4140H worth?

The no cab model, hydrostatic. I bought it brand new in '18 for like $25k if I remember correctly. Only put about 500hrs on it and most of that was in the first year or so. I rarely use it and now a friend asked if I want to sell, how much. I have no idea what it's worth. I'm not trying to sell it for top dollar to a friend but also don't want to give it away. What would you ask for it?

Generally speaking, a good condition tractor with no issues is worth about what it originally sold for.

Market/economy/method of sale all play into it. I picked up my 2016 xr4150 at an estate auction in 2016 with ~250 hours on it IIR, for roughly 1/2 the price of new and checked with LS before bidding to make sure that the warranty transferred (it did since it was an "estate" as opposed to "equipment" auction). Check the used equipment sites (auction.com/tractorhaus/dealer used inventory/etc.) for similar tractors, and set your price based on that. similar to cars/boats/motorcycles valuation. In an extreme situation, take it to the dealer & see what they would offer, then mark up from there.

Here is a Cab model Shuttle Shift, in Texas with 700+ hours. Take about $7k off for no cab, you would be right in the range of what you paid for it as RJC says.

Also, you bought it before all of the tractor prices started to skyrocket so figure in a bit of inflation and I'm thinking a range between $25k and $27k. One question you should answer for him is what can he go buy a comparable new one for right now? That will help you price it also.
