Hey folks I am thinking about putting rearview mirrors on my MF 1533.
I need some ideas of different types and where to mount them out of the way. Can you guys help me out with some ideas/pics of your mirrors.
I don't have a cab or canopy so my choices are few I would think.
Thanks in advance for your help.:D

Since you don't have a canopy, the best place to put a mirror would be on the loader uprights. Do you have a loader?

Get yuo some of those extended bar side view mirrors like 'large' trucks have., and mount them to the hood, to the left or right of you. or get a side view and mount it on the outter edge of a fender, ahead of you.. if you have enough clearance.

I''l bet that tube frame side view mirror holder from a junkyard would be 10$ or less.

You can get those 3" (maybe bigger) convex mirrors at a lot of stores that just have adhesive. Might be lucky enough to have a space to just stick em with no work. Theyre normally pretty cheap too

Thats what I added to the left hand side of my own FEL...but Im going to add another mirror also.

Many mirrors for motorcycles have a threaded stud and a gimbal ball mount...so I'll need to drill and tap a hole in the FEL mount and screw the mirror in and then adjust so I can see with it and then tighten down on that ball mount. The stems come in various lengths.

Get a universal motorcycle mirror that has a male stem that slides into a hole that is usually on handle bar controls and then weld a short piece of tubing on the outside edge of your FEL upright and install mirror. I have one on mine and if I get to close to something, it only flips the mirror around, not break it. You can get one for both sides too.

My Kubota came with the tubing all welded on.

I will post a picture when I catch up to my tractor again this week. It is living on a wood lot this winter.

One thing to be sure of-place them where they won't break any thing when they come off - I've placed several mirrors on my tractor that have been quickly removed by those tree limbs that reach out and grab them. And most of the time I couldn't use them because of the vibration while running.

MikeBurr, I never thought about the vibration, are mirrors worth the time and effort?

I stopped asking "What's Behind Me??" when I turned 50 ;)

I was thinking about putting these Harley staulk mirrors I have, hanging down from my canopy. But I was also wondering about vibration.

Putting those round mirrors on the loader uprights is a nice idea. Not sure it would be high enough...but definately better than nothing.
