What's going on?

The last few days, photo clips (or videos??) of nearly naked women have been showing up on the screens of several sites I visit, including Tractorbynet. They're not the normal pop-ups; I have the pop-up blocker turned on. They appear where you'd normally see advertisements, have a hot-pink border, an arrow to click to see more, and usually feature the rearview of some babe in a thong. On TBN they usually appear in the advertising space across the top of the screen.

Besides TBN, they've appeared on wsj.com, instapundit.com, astromart.com and foxnews.com. None of these sites would normally carry such crap so I assume it's some new kind of spam.

Anyone else seeing this? Is it a problem with my software; do I need to upgrade something or get new protection software? Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like you've picked up an annoying trojan. You need something that takes care of spyware. I've been using Spysweeper for a couple of years and it does a good job. If you're getting the same ads on all those different sites, it's not them, it's your computer.

I think Mike is right, Ad-aware is a free download, and it works great. I have read that some of the ones you pay for, actually put spyware on your computer!!
I use Ad-aware, along with a Firefox browser, which is immune to a lot of the crap, because it is written for Internet Explorer.

I let Best Buy install Spysweeper when I recently bought this new computer. So, nope, I'm not getting the garbage you mentioned.

Thanks for the help, guys. I have Ad-Aware on this thing and had forgotten about it. Hadn't run it since last May.

Fired it up and it found a bunch of stuff which I let it remove. The bare bottom bombardment now appears to have stopped.
