What\'s going on?

Dang, Bird was right. This is one crazy summer. This is still August 6, right? At 5 PM today the temperature was 83 degrees. And we should be in the 60's overnight - - with low humidity to boot. I don't think I ever remember a cool front this 'strong' this time of year. This is October weather for us.

I just happened to be home today & spent ~~5 hours on the BX clearing Youpon & other underbrush from around the veggie garden. Don't see how it could have been any nicer. And, we get more of the same tomorrow.

it's that GLOBAL WARMING! here in Ohio, we were at 66 degrees at 3pm! that is probalby 20+ degrees OFF from our NORMAL temps... tonight looking at 40's /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif


actually watching discovery, the SUN goes through cycles of hot/cold. according to the scientests we should be in the start of a ice age! the global warming is actually HELPING us right now... they predected we should be in a peak ice age by 2050 or soemthing like that... it was very interesting I don't remember the EXACT details though.

Well, it's not as cool here as there (still 82 tonight), but it's been a cooler day than normal and even had a BREEZE! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif But unfortunately, instead of getting a lot done outside, I spent most of the day with a friend in the hospital and didn't get home until after 9:30 p.m. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

My boss Mr. Tiffin was in the Cotton Gin business before he was in the RV business and said in 1964 we had alot of rain in June and July and then and early frost in August. It was a hrd freeze and it froze the cotton bolls and killed them. He said thats what shut the gin down. This morning he said it felt like 64 again. I was jammed under a scraper today puttion in a new engine and also helping with changing the elevator drive chains on it. It felt good,I even caught a nap at dinner under the scraper lol.

We had a cool week out here, with temps 5-10 degrees below normal(mid 80's to lower 90's, compared to normal mid 90's to 100+).

I relate it this way... In the last 10-20 years, we have had climate changes, which give us these little changes. It has happened before, but as often???

What has happened in the last 10-20 years? How about Chernobyl? Mt Pinataubo(sp)? Other volcanoes... Major oil field fires in Iraq and Kuwait. What happened before that??? Thermo nuclear testing here and abroad.

We had various little fluctuation in weather forever and then some. It seems to happen more often now though...

Sorry about the hospital duty. Hope things are not too serious.

I think I spent most of 2003 in one with my wife. Doing better now - - almost 8 consecutive months at home & counting.

Last year there was more sunspot activity than normal. That will usualy make changes in weather.

It has been unbelievably cool here too. At work I keep finding reasons I need to go outside. I think the weatherman reported a few days ago we had a record low high temp for the day. It feels just like October weather in August and I love it. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Just hope this doesn’t mean temps will be 20 degrees below normal this winter. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Go figure, up here in washington state we are usually in the upper seventies to eighties. We read 96 degrees yesterday and have been in the nineties more this month than I can ever remember. We actually broke 100 early last week. I don't normally wish for air conditioning, but this year I have.
