This is always a tricky question. I feel obligated to mention that there are several "finder" websites that can direct you on this, as this advice will usually come in a response. As for the price, it sounds pretty close to me. I had a 4310 and sold it for more than that similarly spec'd about three years ago, but it had but 90 hours at the time of sale. My neighbor had a 4410 with over 3000 hours on it that was in rough physical shape but ran well--he asked and got $11K for it. I would say, depending on condition that $12K is about the minimum price one would see for that machine with those hours and features that had been well-maintained. The price they are asking, to my untrained eye, is about right. The 4310 I had was a really nice solid machine. It did not have enough power to climb my hills pulling heavy implements without bogging, so I sold it and got a 3720, which fixed that problem for me. The 4310 is a solid and proven machine, though. It is also quite popular as it offered almost the same torque as the 4410 for a good bit less money and then the 4210 was physically a bit different than the 4310 and 4410 making competition from below less likely.

Thanks, I gotta have Pop take a look at it, under powering isn't much of a big problem, though. It's going to be our garden tractor if we buy it, and those areas are flat. Plus, we have other machines up to 50hp, and access to much bigger ones. Thanks again! Anymore opinions would be greatly appreciated!

Last year about this time I looked at a JD 4310 with 300CX front loader. It was at a Bob Cat dealership. Tractor appeared in good mechanical condition with less than 500 hours as I remember. Features were similar to those you have listed but no canopy and industrial tires that showed some wear. Tractor had apparently set outside most of its life as paint was not shiny and definitely had a used look. Dealer was asking $14,800 but said he would sell with no trade for $14,000. I passed it by and purchased a 3320 with 300CX loader a month later.

That machine has plenty of power to pull implements. I do not want to mislead you there. Its problem is that it has an unfavorable power to weight ratio, which means it will struggle to maintain speed pulling up long steep hills. This primarily affects C range transport and B range work. One might have to drop into A range when pulling implements up the steeps or when doing PTO work while lugging hills. To some, this is an acceptable comprimise, but to me, since that is all I do is go up and down, I found it frustrating enough to trade the tractor.
