What\'s really the difference between two tractors.

I've been reading posts for a while and most of them are about the BX23. I own a B7500 which is a size up from the BX model. What makes the BX so different from the 7500?,other than the size?It seems to be the more popular choice in smaller tractors. Here lately it makes me want to look at one for myself. Can anyone give me some pros and cons of each that would make me want to buy a BX instead of keeping my B7500? Mine only has 70hrs on it.

Re: What\'s really the difference between two tractors.

The BX23 is a "prepackaged" small estate TLB. You can equip your B7500 in much the same way by adding a FEL, if you do not already own one, and a backhoe. Your current machine is not all that different in physical size, but has a little more "real" power in the hydraulics and more ground clearance. You may or may not "take a bath" if you trade, but the only way to know is to ask for the details as well as pricing a BH for the current machine. If you have a MMM, you'll need to replace that, too, if you move to the BX. Consider also comparing the specs available on the Kubota web site...

Donny,

In addition to what Jim said, I think you might want to visit your local Kubota dealer and take a good look at a BX.

Having experience on the B7500, you will probably be able to answer a lot of your questions fist hand that way.

With 14 acres, and a B7500 with a winch on it, I can't imagine why you would want to downsize. The limited (read small) 3PH of the BX by itself would be reason not to in my book.

All depends on your personal needs though...

I downsized from a B2410 to BX23 in late August when there was 0% financing. I did well on the private sale of my B2410. I did sell all the implements as the BX23 3 point hitch would be too small for them particularly my tiller. I miss the bigger size and quicker response time of the B2410 FEL. The bigger tractor also rides better over rough lawn or field. I like the BX23 also but have only about 2 hours of time on it. The backhoe is great however a WOODS 6500 backhoe on the B7500 would give you slightly more reach and you would not have to keep turning the seat around like on the BX23 when repositioning the tractor. I like the small size of the BX23 but need to use it more to see if I will regret giving up the B2410. I also sold my WOODS 4' rotary cutter to buy the smaller 42 inch estate rotary cutter for the BX23. I will be trying out the cutter this weekend and hopefully it will cut as well as the larger one. It is easier to climb on the BX23 because it is lower to the ground. As far as stability the BX23 does not feel any more stable on inclines than the B2410. I had the rear wheels on the B2410 out to the widest position.

Thanks for the input and I will visit my local dealer to check them out. I will probally stay with my 7500.I wish I had a BH for it though.I might not use it much but I would have one when I needed it.

Re: What\'s really the difference between two tractors.

If you are interested I may be willing to trade my new 40 hour BX23 machine for your B7500 and some cash. I am selling my current property, but still could use a tractor at another property, but I don't need the backhoe. Let me know if you are interested.
