Rake What's The Benefit of Wheels on a Landscape Rake?

/ What's The Benefit of Wheels on a Landscape Rake? #21
I have a B7100 and pull a 5 foot rake and since I don't have good control over the 3pt height (no 1/4 inching) I drop the 3pt all the way down and use the top link and wheels to get the bite I want with the tines. I put the tines just barely touching the ground for my final pass on the gravel and it comes out nice and smooth. Nice.:licking:

With the gauge wheels, if the front of the tractor goes up over a bump, the rake will gouge a low spot. If the front wheels hit a dip, the rake will leave a high spot.

If you want a well finished surface from a rough one, the wheels are invaluable.

I bought a used 72" Land Pride a dozen years ago for $300, with wheels. Mine also has a drop down scraper blade that comes in handy although it's not a necessity. The salesman told me that I could probably sell it and get my money out of it when the project was done. Well, I'm not selling it :)

It doesn't get many hours per year on it because it does each job quickly.
