I know the HP range overlaps in the New 20 series from 31- 47 and the 20R series increases the HP range from 31 - 55 Hp. Any thoughts?

I think it's based on the latest Tier emissions controls on the engine series. Might knock a couple of HP off the ratings. The 55 HP is the turbo version of the A2300, which was not available in the 20 series previously.

The fel control design and location, hood design, hinge full opening instead of side access panels, and a tool box, the fel control is what sold me on my 4520R

4720 vs 4520R:

new from 4720 to 4520R: engine revision N2-R (probably only new emmission standard, might be 2hp less), FEL control (position and type, new one more joystick like), position of FEL hydraulic valve (now below platform (right front), a little more exposed to dirt and other dangers), additional tool box left front below platofm (where on the other side the hyd. valve for FEL is situated), smaller fuel tank (40->35 litres, due to toolbox and new hyd. valve location), new hood design (as stated before, definitely better looks ;) )
I have brochures where the 4720 has lower 3-point lift capacity and a smaller hyd. pump (similar to 3120R, 3520R, 4020R) . I am also not sure about the front axle. The 4520R has 60ー steering angle (it's really great in narrow spaces), I thought I read about 56ー on the 4720 (still very good). I am not sure about that though.

For me it was a no brainer. Simply wanted the newer machine (and really liked the new looks). Price was about the same (new). But if you get a real bargain for a 4720 you won't miss too much. 4520R is mainly an update. Main parts like gearbox and engine are identical or very close.
