What's this worth?

I found a 3 point blade for sale along a local road. It is from Howes and the model number is GB9 (from what i can make out on the weathered tag) I have left a message and havent heard back yet. I have never bought one of these before and dont want to get taken for a ride. the pins are quite rusty, but the blade itself seams in pretty good shape. What should i expect as an asking price and what should I offer.

I have all ways figured any thing that had any lifenin it was worth half of new in my area. I have learned the hard way over the years, I have found better equipment are worth there money unless it is a seldom use equipment.

If it helps, two years ago I found an old (heavy) 3PH five foot back blade at the local junkyard. (See attached picture of the brute). Fifty bucks later it was mine. Drilled out a rusted shaft, bashed out another, made two new shafts, added eight grease fittings and replaced one of the pins. Never regretted the purchase and I count it among one of my "real good bargains". You never know how much someone will take for a particular item. In my case, someone just wanted to get rid of it and the junkman wound up with it. A quick sale to me was cash in his pocket - timing is everything sometimes. Blade is surely worth $100, but asking the seller for a price and dickering usually works. Good luck.

I bought a Frontier 5' blade new from the dealer for $250, for reference. It's pretty light weight but seems well made. Hasn't rusted yet sitting outside for over a year.

the guy called back and wants 100 for the blade. I will be picking it up this weekend. I think I will need to replace the pins though as they are extremely rusted and pitted. Is there a local source for these? i looked at the mytscstore.com (There is a TSC less than 5 miles from me) website and they didnt list anything like them. I see them on the Howse website. they are only a couple of bucks a piece there. anyone ordered from their website before?

I buy the pins from TSC all the time. They are reasonably priced.

Your back blade looks a lot like the one I paid $200 for a couple of years ago but yours looks like it is better reinforced. I must spend more time at scrap yards.
