I have a new 3720 with the 447 backhoe.
I finally got done with clearing an area and now it is time to remove the hoe and start racking and blading. This is the first time I have had a need to remove the hoe. The JD liturature all says the rocker arms will lift the hoe enough to remove the pins but mine doesn't at all.

My dealer says to use the boom or the stabilizers. That sounds like a cop out to me. I had to do that with my older setup. Not having to do that was one of the selling points. They said that some are easy to mount and some take a little help. I say make mine easy!!

I can understand it if you are mounting a 448, but the 447 is the one that is supposedly mated to the 3x20s...

I have tripple checked to make sure my power beyond loop hose was fully engaged in the connector.

If others have solved this issue please enlighten me.

Your 3ph adjustment is out of whack, and the dealer
should come and make this right for you.
But, it is an easy adjustment, although
it is very touchy.
There is a rod that controls 3ph height, and it has
a threaded area with a nut for adjustment.
I believe the rod runs alongside and under the left
hand side of the seat suspension. It should end up
near the rockshaft, and as the rockshaft comes up,
this rod pushes a valve inside the transmission controlling
how high the rockshaft comes up.
When installing the backhoe, it is important that this setting
is correct, to get the pressure off of the pins holding
the backhoe on..
If you want to tackle yourself, make small adjustments in the
threaded rod, 1/2 turn at a time..
if not, have the dealer do it, as it should have been preset
when the 447 was installed.
let us know how it goes

Thanks!
I forwarded your reply to the tech. I'll be looking for that rod later today :)
Do I need to remove the seat to get to it?

You don't need to remove the seat. I am pretty sure the pricedure is spelled out in the Deere FAQ...

Thanks. I found your post about this in the FAQ. Unfortunately it is just a link and it is broken. It just takes you to the main forum index page. There are a lot of broken links in the FAQ. But some very useful ones that do work.

It did get me to do a search on rockshaft adjust which led me to some useful info. I had assumed the plates on the backhoe frame hooks where rigid but someone said they are adjustable so I will try that as well.

I am now armed and dangerous and have two adjustments to try. I will report back as soon as I can squeeze a few minutes free back at the farm.

Thanks one and all.

According t some sharp deere techs, you want to stick with the rockshaft arm adjustment that Dutch pointed out. Messing with the hooks, using the boom or stabilizers are all pretty risky, and it isn't hard to do the right one.
