That formula is useful for a general approximation when better data isn't available.... HP (not PTO) is calculated at only 22 for the YM2000D and YM 2000BD. ? (1.2 x 20 = 24 .... not exact, I know)
The one I am looking at is red with a green engine block ... therefore later 70s I assume.
But there is one instance , YM2000/YM240 where the exact same engine (2TR20A-X) has a 20hp nameplate on it for Japan, and a 24hp nameplate on it for the US. The estimates for all the other Yanmar models are based on this single instance of hard data.
If the headlights are in the grille ... it at least has a second-series hood on it.
First-series (green) YM2000's are pretty rare in the US.
Incidentally while second-series YM2000 was red and sales ended in 1979 (???), its US version continued to be sold through 1981-82 and was still painted green clear to the end. (see my avatar at left).
