What\'s wrong with my seat?

Okay, I'm pretty slow I guess.

I can't figure out what's wrong with my seat. It is unstable and tippy and I don't feel comfortable on it. I got the tractor used and I'm working through several hopefully minor issues to get everything sorted out.

Here are some pictures:

I circled the pieces in red that seem like they should be attached to something and are broken or something. They are attached at the bottom and swivel back and forth but I can't figure out what to attach them to.

I can't figure it out from the parts diagram:

Thanks, Nathan

Re: What\'s wrong with my seat?

Nathen,

Went out to look at mine and it is a little different. I looks like the pieces you circled should be attached to the mounting plate that is now pivoting forward. See attached.

Hope this helps,

Gary

Re: What\'s wrong with my seat?

Thanks. That's what I was leaning toward but wasn't sure.

It is going to be fun getting them attached. I may have to take it apart to get it back together they don't look like they will slide in very easy.

The odd thing is that they aren't in the parts diagram at all.

Thanks, Nathan

Re: What\'s wrong with my seat?

That looks very much like a parallel linkage setup. I second the idea of the green lines in the retouched photo. The extensions beyond the pivot points with the bevelled edge look like "stops" to keep tension in the springs.

That part is attached and you also need to have the top piece to capture around the adjuster (see attached pic)… KennyV.

Re: What\'s wrong with my seat?

I guess they are not in the part diaqgram because that is all one piece, no replaceable parts. That reminds me, the rubber bumpers on mine need replacing..

Re: What\'s wrong with my seat?

Well, I got it all put back together correctly. Thanks for the help.

Turns out the seat isn't a Kubota seat anyway.

At least it is all connected and not as tippy as before. Not sure I'm happy with it overall. I think I'll be keeping my eye out for a new seat.

Thanks, Nathan

Nathen,

I was wondering why it looked so different?

But good to hear you got it working. I would try to get it back to stock if for no other reason than to make sure your seat belt is working correctly. Some times you only get one chance!
