Maybe you've already heard that WalMart will soon be selling generic prescriptions cheap. I heard the pilot program is to be rolled out in Florida 1st. Will you be getting in on the savings or continue to support your local pharmacist? Everyone needs a prescription filled from time to time.

i think its a great thing especially for walmart employees that have no health insurance. Target is doing the same thing. but its a very limited number of drugs being offered.

According to the party not in power, Walmart is pure evil.

Where I work (in a jail system) we have been able to get generics for our inmates for years. Work great in 90% of the case and saves tons of taxpayer $$$$$$$$$$. I use generics.

The contract pharmacy that supplies the jail makes good money even with the generics. And they provide that a very low cost. Walmart cost.

I love competition. I look forward to this expanding to the entire USA. As for the Mom and Pop drug stores, too bad. Times change. It is not my job to pay exorbitant fees to keep them in business.

I agree. The big chain drug stores have already put the little guys out of business and I didn't hear any complaining then. They not only charge less for drugs (generic and branded) but they also hire more people than the little guys did. This is good for the economy and for the vast majority of consumers.

Competition is good. Wal-Mart will make it even more competitive. The consumer will win in the end.

Are you bashing Wal-Mart and implying that their employees do not have health insurance? If so you are wrong. Full time and some part time employees do have benefits and good ones at that. You should do a little research before making off the cuff remarks like that.

I must have missed something in the news. I hadn't heard anything about any changes with WalMart pharmacies. When we lived down in the country, the WalMart pharmacy was not only the cheapest, but the closest pharmacy to us, and the service was very good. When we moved back to town, the closest WalMart not only had lousy service in the pharmacy, but in the rest of the store as well. So we haven't used a WalMart pharmacy for almost 4 years now.

Personally I'd prefer they buy Citgo. Citgo controlled by the Venezualian government and is essentially an enemy of our national interests, both foreign and domestic. I refuse to put Citgo gas in my vehicles.

While it is true the WalMart does offer health insurance to its workers, it is also true that the benefits are not commonly utilized by its workers. Affordability is one of the commonly cited reasons, especially so by the part time employee, and WalMart has a high percentage of PT employees. I'd suggest that you are both correct, to a point.

Bird WalMart is planning to sell certain generic drugs for 4 dollars a pop.
