Good one.

Being a scientist, I did some measurements. My FEL will hold twice as many logs as my wheel barrel. It takes just as long per log to load logs into / out of the FEL as the barrel. It takes a little longer to get off the tractor and get positioned to load/unload the fel as it does to put down the barrel and get positioned to load/unload it.

So, depending on how long it takes to drive / walk from the wood pile to the house, and how much wood you need to move, it may (or may not) be more efficient to use the tractor over the wheel barrel.

ME? I use the tractor

(well, I do when loading up the 1/4 cord stack near the house ... I use the barrel if I need to dash through the rain to grab an evenings worth of wood).

Well, thanks for the opportunity to reply on my own Golfgar..

Didn't think I would have to explain and so I won't. We bet each other all the time and then set the terms later. Guess we have been together for too long. Always seem to know what the terms are.. Now, if it gets real serious like when it's going to cost one of us money, then the terms are set up front.

By the way, we have a golf cart. EZ-Go electric "199?", with a bench seat on the back. It's great with the grand kids and she uses it all the time with her gardening. At the town festival we volunteer every year shuffling (sp) the handicap around.. Figure we will be there some day and would appreciate the lift.. Tom

And, by the way, we had a nice weekend. She wanted to raise a flower bed and so I played operator engineer and ran the loader. Moved a lot of dirt up to the bed from back in the woods and a lot of compost from the farm down the road.

The Bx2200 is a real nice tool. Got done with that chore, removed the loader and put the mower back on and mowed the front yard and the vacationing neighbor's yard.

Sure like the cup holder concept.........
