ford 1600
While tightening the wheel bolts for my mother in laws Ford 1600 I snapped off the head of the bolts. What is the size/thread pitch for the bolts? Easily found at local hardware store or special order item? Thanks in advance

Front or rear? I have a Ford 1600, its metric everywhere. A real good hardware store might have them. I believe metric bolts are stronger than a SAE 5, but weaker than a SAE 8.

Okay, just went to the Ford shed. The 1600 front wheel bolts say 3 F and 8.8. Im not real sure how to determine the pitch. I could get you a length, but my tractor has front wheel weights and they block everything.

If this helps....I also have a Ford 1710. Its very close in size to the 1600. I don't have a 1600 owner's manual, but I do have a 1710 owners manual. It states for a 2wd, 1710 ( or all 1600s) the front wheel bolt torque should be 43-54 lb ft. Being the bolts are similar, I think thats a safe figure to use on a 1600.

Hi! The best remove one and you go in a Good autopart or tractor dealer with the bolt you can have the good replacement. I use a metric threader set for find bolts size. Good Luck! Oldmech.
