- Getting old. Sold the ranch. Sold the tractors. Moved back to the city.
Took delivery of a nice 13-ft wheel disc. It's a Minneapolis-Moline KA-1300 apparently manufactured by Krause and sold under the MM badge. $600
Put the bucket forks on the Mahindra 5525 to do part of the lifting.
The hitch assembly had to be removed to get the disc on the trailer without a lot of overhang.
Frame is red, wheels are probably MM prarie gold (the classic MM paint scheme).
Only one crack to weld (so far).
I'll remove three outer blades from each axle to cut it down to about 9 ft wide for the 5525. The topsoil on my hayfield is pretty thin so I won't be running this disc at a very aggressive setting. I don't think the 5525 will have any problem pulling it during the planting season in Oct when the ground is pretty dry and hard. I'll detach the FEL and fill the rear tires to give the 5525 a fighting chance to handle this load on the drawbar.
I found a YouTube clip showing an old JD Model A pulling a disc about this size through what looks like cornfield stubble. That gives me hope that the 5525 will do OK with this beast.

This MM disc should go nicely with the MM P3-6 grain drill that I recently finished restoring.
Old stuff is fun.
