My wife enjoys working with wood and stuff like that. Presently, she's making some tables out of some 2in maple we had milled from a fallen tree.
Now, my darling wife is the queen of finding good deals. I have over 20 years in IT and she still bests me in finding stuff online. BUT! When she announces she bought a new tool for the shop, I always cringe inside. Why? What she thinks is a good deal, I would never buy. It's usually too small or junky.
Today, she announced with glee about finding a router and router table on craigslist for $75. With a forced smile on my face, I go out to her SUV to unload it. The table was a rickity home made table and the router was a small craftsman unit mounted to the underside. I'm quite certain the rock maple will out match the router but I just smiled, unloaded it, and stowed it in the shop.
Anyone else ever deal with this? Even when you tell your spouse, "Please don't buy me stuff for the shop" and they do it anyway?
Sigh.....
