My max psi is supposed to be 2950, at idle it's 2800, at full rpm it's 3050. Should I back it off?

It wouldn't hurt, but it's close enough I wouldn't bother. If your tractor is still under warrantee I would back it off.

Sounds perfect. Youll find it to be a little lower when hot.

Depending on what the factory specs are. On my Branson the settings are at PTO speed not full RPM. I personally would leave it alone.

It wouldn't do any good to back it off. If the relief opens at 2800psi and you run up to full rpm the flow is more then the reief can handle, so it well build more psi.

It's quite unlikely that a factory matched relief valve will be overrun with flow from an OEM pump. They are pretty much spec'ed to work together.

Then why did the even use a relief valve? On a factory built machine it won't happen.

4570Man & RickB that should be true and I would say in most cases it is , but why is he getting more psi when he ups the rpm and getting more flow? Something is holding the oil back.

Because he adjusted the relief valve higher.

Nope I wouldn't change it either. That spec sounds very familiar :D. What model is it?
