Oil & Fuel When to change oil on 2520? First one.

So is my Rotella 15w-40 good to use, or should I use something else as far as the oil goes?

From what I have read your Rotella 15w-40 will do just fine.. That is what i use in my Dodge/cummins and will be using in the JD for the future oil changes..

I would use whatever the manual says to use , as long as it is under warrenty. dont give them an open door if you have engine trouble down the road.
Just my view.
I was in the automotive bissiness 28 years. a friend of mine in the early 90"s had a new transam first service he went with some senthetic oil or something. and was running it hard and it blew the motor. now i know the oil had nothing to do with it. but GM did a test and found it had incorrect oil in it. and did not cover it. he had to by an engine. i seen this more than once. So i am a firm believer to do what thay say while its under warrenty. and there can be no question. after warrenty. do what you like..

I changed at 13 hours to Mobil 1 5w-30. Would use 0w-30 if it were available. The startup vis would still be higher than at operating temperature.

I change it at about 100 hours now or about once/yr. Have a little over 250 hours now. No blue smoke.
