Had to remove the lower hyd cylinders for service the other day. Today I was re installing them and realized that the yoke that the lower pin attaches to is marked R and L. Ok, is this as if you were sitting in the tractor seat looking forward or standing in front of the tractor looking towards the cab. :confused3:

All the ones that I have worked on it's just like your truck as you are seated in the seat, your left is the tractor left.

The passenger side is the right side.

Thanks guys, you are correct. I found a video that showed the yoke on my loader. It confirmed that I had assembled it wrong. Fortunately, I had not inserted the roll pins yet so it will be easy to correct.

LD48750, Ha there's always at least one in the crowd:laughing:

Unless of course it is an English tractor.
Then the passenger side is wrong.

Exactly, the left hand side is the passenger side.

Or is it like horses and motorcycles that have an "on side" and an "off side"? The "on side" being the side you use to get on (and off)..., and the "off side" is the one you don't.

Sit in the tractor seat. Your left hand is on the left side of the tractor, your right hand is on the right side of the tractor. Just like any other motorized vehicle.

Or rScotty - if riding a motorcycle and get into a "tough" situation - then either side can become the "off" side.

By golly - if we haven't confused you yet tmc_31 give us a shout and we can try again - ha, ha.

I was a tech writer for many years - When describing mechanical equipment the right and left is ALWAYS determined by the normal position of the operator when using that equipment. Another pet peeve of mine is the "Lefty loosey" "Righty tighty" - Better to say clockwise or counter-clockwise or top to the left or top to the right. "Always write to the 3rd grade level for clarity". Many more too numerous to list.
