It has sat there in it's little spot for a few months now, finally got time to fix it up & this time it's done right! Didn't have a welder when I made it, boy they open up a whole new level of what you can do with metal. Need to paint and fill back the crater of cement I had to remove in the drum for the repair.

I would only lend to friends that have as high or higher standards of perfection when it comes to equipment, than I do.

Funny how people that often don't have anything of their own, often have the lowest standards.

I think im pretty lucky as there are three people i'd loan equipment too. None of them are relatives, not that my BILs are dishonest, they just dont know how to use equipment and may inadvertently break something. The three i'd lend to are probably smarter then i am and can either can figure out how it works or ask questions and understand the answers.

BIL's are the worst. I stopped lending tools to pretty much anyone. I do have a soft spot for my son unfortunately but I figure it is my fault if he screws up (bad teacher)!

Nice repair but you shouldn't have had to spend the time/money in the first place... just too nice of a guy. As we get older, we get grumpier, and I think I am starting to understand why. :laughing:

I don't loan any of my equipment to anyone, but I am willing to use my own tractors and equipment to help those lacking the finances or skills required to do the work they would like to have done.

Accidents can and do happen to anybody.

AIN'T NEVER GONNA HAPPEN!!! I'll take my tractor to help a friend but lend it to a friend......... A real friend will understand and ask for help, not to lend him your tractor.

I've seen a lent pry bar get broken.......... I don't have time, need or patience to try and squeeze blood out of a turnip to get repairs completed.

My business relies on having people use my equipment, so I don’t have any problems loaning things to certain friends or family.

However, I will not let anyone repair anything that they break. I hate substandard repairs.
