Where are we at, whats going on with the B26?

We must have a couple of guys (or gals) that have a B26 by now, whats the verdict? Overpriced B24? Outstanding, so so, what. Did I miss something during my vacation?

Ours with 13 hours on it just blew out a packing on the FEL tipping cylinder which has only about 3/4 of an hours use. It also shows some sign of hydraulic oil showing on the pan underneath. Not dripping, but it gets enough to show when it has been wiped off it comes back within a day or 2 and one (me) can not locate where it is coming from. (DRAIN PLUG IS TIGHT) It goes in the 17 for some minor fixing up.

Wondering about the power. I don't know what you have past experience with. I'm a bit curious about loader strength, namely, whats the gearing like. H-M-L range, what are the respective speeds in those ranges? My L48's were just not to my liking. Medium had decent power to get into a dirt pile but the speed was so slow that unless I was in the immediate area, I had to go to H range which was way to weak and frankly, just not the range to be in for loader work. Its the one reason the GST on the L39 interested me. I have yet to see the B26, from the online pictures I have seen, the front tires are almost the same size as those on my wheelbarrow, tell me thats not the case.

Wouldn't want to be the guy filling the tank with a 5 gallon can. That doesn't look like much fun at all in the center-center of the hood over the FEL arms and right where the front tire is. Granted, most will probably be filled by the on-site (or on-road) contractor pumper, but that looks like a real pain in the rear for anyone not so endowed.

Of course on the other hand, its just a tiny little tractor. A towel on the hood, rest the can base on the towel, tilt and fill, really quite simple even though I have a 30 gallon Handy tank and pump, the other way works just fine too.

I have a small 6 gallon tank with a hand pump that I've been using since I bought my first Kubota B7100D back in 83. It works just fine on my new B26. I never run it low enough so that I need more than the 6 gallons.

For us, it has all the power we need and more. No problems in any of the 3 speeds. It can be perfect for us and lousy for another. Who can tell whats good for someone else?
