where do you place the CALIF green sticker on your UTV?

My first off road rig- Kawasaki 4x4 Trans Diesel Mule. Today I endured the California DMV and eventually was called up to a REP-all went well but no one could tell me specifically where to affix the sticky sticker CALIFORNIA OFF HIGHWAY "green sticker" that I purchased. I'm thinking the powder coated DOT ROPS-don't know.m Please save me some grief-Cal state land/BLM federal land. Website?

Not sure, but what about on the tailgate near your license plate?

Green sticker?...Jeez. Guess I know why the generator I got from there shortly after CA outlawed them was such a good deal.

No license plate, this is an off road vehicle and if possible, I don't want to stick it on paint.
I have three guesses why these are mandatory in Cal state parks and BLM property:

1. Emissions control-remember that the word/term "SMOG" (smoke and fog) was coined out here in SoCal back in the fifties.

2. Theft control-the bad guys would steal our rides as fast as we could buy them. They would then dirt them out and and beat them to death only in off road areas when back in the day license plates were not required. I had to take the Mule in to the DMV where they inspected that all serial numbers matched my dealer's paperwork.

3. Revenue-you think you pay too much in taxes, California leads them all.

As I continue to live in this state, there will probably come a day that I'll need a sticker pasted on my forehead just so I can blow my nose......

Well, in CA, they are trying to declare that CO2 is a pollutant, so we will
all be polluters just by breathing. There is a federal movement in that
direction, too ("cap-and-trade"). Help to end this insanity.

In PA we need a plate and insurance to ride on the state gamelands...Surprised CA hasn't used that scam yet.

My uncle lives on Belvedere Island in Marin co...So I've heard all of the horror stories. You have my sympathy, although PA would like to do things the CA way if they could get away with it.
