Where I put my tool box and loose bolts

I've seen lots of the tool box pictures here while trying to figure out jwhere I could put mine on my L 2800. It needed to be protected because of all trees I cut with the cutter. They push at the fenders and come up at my feet. Following the advice of my dealer I removed my fanny flag and bolted a tool box to the cross member it's mounted on behind the seat. I think it will be protected there more than anywhere else although the fanny flag was pushed off one time. I can mount the flag bracket to the tool box when I get a nicer looking box.

Another Item I want to mention is the practice of checking for loose bolts and missing pins etc. While wiping up dust and grime today I noticed a loose nut which holds the fel to the tractor. There are four on top (2 on each side) and eight on the bottom. All of the top ones were loose , two of them I could turn with my finger. I also found a missing pin on my 3ph. I've never checked for this before because I usually don't wipe it up very much. I just had some extra time today. I think I'll wipe it up more often from now on.

Those pins in the 3 pt mechanism can get pulled out by brush. I found my left side pin gone from the 3 pt where it attaches at the bottom on the tractor. A pin and spacer were there. Couldn't find a spacer the right size at TSC. Put in a piece of PVC for the spacer until I can remember to get another at the JD dealer. So far, the PVC is holding up.

On my Gravely, some brush actually pulled the dip stick out in some of early hours of using it. Learned to turn the dip stick around so the loop at the top of it is turned back tight to the engine block.
