Where is the best place to buy parts? Dealer Only?

I'm noticing that getting parts for these things is not the simple matter I'd expect it to be. Seems like Agco forces you to go through the dealer for everything. Just called a nearby dealer to order the two small parts Diverter Plug (SL103119) and O-Ring (SL103143) I need to complete the install of the WR Long 3rd Function kit. ~$110 for what amounts to a bolt and an o-ring. Yikes.

Is this the only option for buying parts?

What about oil filters? Dealer only item?

While under warranty, it's best to use the dealer for anything that might affect internal operations. Your add-on kit would qualify there.

I've used them for filters and various small parts in the past with good success.

Depends what you are after. Universal things like filters can be had many places. I use NAPA mostly and have never had any problems there. The hydraulic filters are the worst (over $80 for AGCO)[That was for a MF2660 larger tractor] and even 3rd party run about half that. Depending again on what you are after there are several salvage yards that stock and resell some fairly complex items. I find Wengers of Myerstown (PA) very reputable.

Not like the Auto/Truck Marketplace. Unless you are talking antiques, Deere is the ONLY place to get Deere parts. I have gone "Back" to only using OEM filters. There is too much junk on the market even from some NAME brands. Terrible but true. You could have a filter that is no filter at all and never experience the eventual failure this might lead to. Doesn't mean you are buying or getting a good filter or the right filtration level.

Oil filters for my 1755 are readily avalable at less cost, but the agco filter isn't a huge chunk of change though.
The FUEL filter however is $180.00 and not available aftermarket yet unfortunately...)

Likewise, to get the the 2 fuel filters for my 2017 Ram 2500 with 6.7 Cummins diesel is pushing $200.00 at the dealer, yet I can buy the same 2 Mopar fuel filters AND oil filter together online for less than $80.00 go figure. It pays to shop around.
