Where is the Hydraulic Fill.

I am doing the 50 hr service and need to change the hydraulic filter and screen. Using Messicks 50 hr service bulletin. Once I change the filter and screen I need to top off the hydraulic oil. Is that the fill plug at the back of the machine? And is that the same hydraulioc oil for the transmission as well?

Not sure about your BX24 but most are on the rear. The oil is the same for the hydraulics and HST.

Once you put oil in do you check the level when the oil is warm or cold, and should the engine be running or not.

Just above your rear PTO. Pull the flap down for better access. You'll see a small cap and a small dipstick. Not sure the temp matters very much.

That's the same hole as the dipstick on the rear differential. The fluid is so thin it's probably irrelevant if its hot or cold. I would check with the engine off. After you change the filter, fill and run it a bit. Raise and lower the loader, then shut it off and check your level. Its hard to see due to the clarity of the fluid's color but if you hold it sideways it should immediately congeal on the lower slot on the stick and your are tolerable.
