Where is the PS pump on a 135 diesel?

I just purchased a 135 diesel that was supposed to have PS according to the seller. He still maintains that it has it, but it feels awfully stiff to me and I've driven 135s in the past both with PS and without so I think I have a good idea of what I'm feeling.

Could someone kindly fill me in on where the PS pump is on this thing so I can confirm its existence?

It's the silver thing under and aft of the alternator.

That's my 1964 MF135 diesel being restored a few years ago.
The power steering on the 135 is a misnomer--it's actually "power assisted" steering and it's stiff. The assist mechanism is located on the steering column and is pretty dinky compared to true power steering such as on my 2008 Mahindra 5525. You can see the two hoses from the 135's power steering pump that go to the steering column.

Here's what the power steering on the 5525 looks like.

Notice the hydraulic ram on the 5525's power steering arrangement--that's true power steering.

Great - thank you for that picture. That will help a ton. I am considering filing a fraud claim with ebay over this purchase and getting my money back but I wanted to check out everything thoroughly first.

Like Flusher said. Some had PS assist and that ain't much pumpkin compared to full PS. I have seen 135's with the front spindles being overly tight and some require attention to make steering easier. Ken Sweet

Can you post pictures of the other side of the tractor, where the end of the steering rod connects to the gearbox and the gearbox itself??

Another way to tell if it has PS, is to check for oil lines going into the steering column. If it does, you have PS. Ken Sweet

This is about the best I have with me right now:

Ignore the mention of multi power in the pictures. The previous owner just stuck the decal on there - it doesn't have MP.

Ken, I did check for that yesterday and found none. It was freezing outside and I didn't give it a thorough check but I saw no obvious lines going anywhere near the base of the steering column.
