I own a John Deere 4100HST and need new tires. It has turf tires 315/75D15. I am told that bridgestone is the only company that makes that size and they also ask a hefty price for them. Can anyone tell me if there is an alternative tire brand with a smaller price tag? Is there a good place to buy online?

Welcome to TBN. There's some old tired guys here --- but, you can't get any tires! ;)

I'd check out some of the major manufacturers web-sites. Titan, Firestone, Bridgestone, etc. Look for your shoe size if they make it. There tends to be local dealerships that are linked here and there at those sites as well.

You might come up with somebody that's reasonably close to you.

Best of luck.

Like as been mentioned here lately, tires take oil to manufacture and tires that are in the warehouse currently were man. with the most expensive oil ever.

perserverance in the used arena.

Anything cheaper and new will be chinese and if you wanted chinese you woulda bought a jinma or something.

Good point, Steve. That bites at both ends - the manufacturer/dealer and the buyer.. :(

The dealer won't be inclined to sell for a loss and the guy lookin' for tires won't want to pay for the increased cost to manufacture 'em, either.

They're just tires - a certain width/I.D./O.D. so there sure should be something else out there that'll work.

You're just down the street from Carlisle - go to the Carlisle tire online store and look around. They should be able to come up with something that'll work for you!! I've been using their TurfTrac RS's for years - excellent tires that don't tear up the yard. ;)

Carlisle would be a good place to start. That was going to be my suggestion as well. There might be some other brands as well, like Galaxy, or others that might make that tire. It is about 12 inches wide, and not sure what the OD in inches is, but might be able to match it up that way instead of Metric.
