Where to buy?

All - I've read several posts talking about Corriher's and Tarheel Tractor in NC. I've also seen something about a place called Bishop's, which appeared to be somewhere in Northern OH. Does anyone have any idea if this is the right name and what they're like on price? I'd gladly cut 3 hours off my trip (each way) if I could get as good of a deal.

Found about 20 in Northern Ohio, none named Bishop.

You don't have your profile filled out so I have no clue where you are, but I got the best deal about 8 miles west of my house from a place called DeJong Equipment.

Initially they were a bit high, but I used a plastic wiffle ball bat and beat them about the head until they yelled UNCLE. They came back with the best deal. I went back to them again in December for a snowblower, they came in right off the bat at the lowest price. I just added a MMM deck and they not only outright beat the Corriher price, they picked up my tractor, installed the deck, and returned it to me.

I guess my point is, try your local dealer, he might come down in price if you sweet talk him, if not, take a wiffle ball bat in with you.

Thanks guys. Inspector - I think the dealer is actually named Miner's Bishop, but I forget the city...something 'wood I believe!

Bob - I've checked with my local dealer and they were $1800 higher than Corriher's on the package. Even if I could "wiffle bat" them down to matching, I'd still have to pay another $1100-1200 in sales tax, so there's no way I'll do as well locally. If I could buy closer and still avoid paying any sales tax, that's what I'm shooting for. If not, I'll go with Corriher's and that will be the end of it. I'm in central IL, by the way /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
