Hi, I was looking thru the JD parts catalog and they have a HID rear worklight to mount on a fender but want over $400 for it. I was thinking that I should try to find some to mount on my canopy. My current rear work light does not light up enough while I am baling as I can see either the pickup or the thrower but not both. Anyone know where I can find these types of lights as all I can find are the car kits.

AWDirect.com has the Hella HID Work Light but it's $399.99. HID lights are expensive no matter who is selling them. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Mike's right, I was looking for a set on eBay some months back but they aren't cheap by any stretch of the imagination.

In the world of HID lights, $400 isn't a bad price at all. Warn Industries (the winch people) have large off road HID lights for around $1200 a pair. JW Speaker Corp. has a nice setup you can buy for $588 each.

You might want to check out Cool Bulbs. They not only have full conversion kits but also a far less expensive plasma white light bulb set up that simply replaces your existing halogen bulb. They're not full HID brightness but still way brighter than the halogen and just might work for you.

Good luck with whatever you decide. I hope this helps. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Or another brand is KC Lites which I have on the 990. They just came out with HID lighting and then they are well known for their standard lighting which I have and LOVE!!

Well, I checked some online sites and most of them want to give you a quote. So I figure what the heck and gave them a try. Price comes to $400 for each light which I expected but why is there a $192 steel surcharge for a work light? I guess I will just look at the alternatives to HID lights.

The Deere light (RE203813) is on sale in the catalog right now for $445. That's 50 bucks off the regular price and the cheapest it's ever been. I work parts at a Deere dealer in Ohio (though I own a Boomer!) and could ship you one direct from the warehouse if you can't find it locally. Let me know if you need more info.

Thanks but I went with Halogens instead. I would like to try HID lights someday but not till the price comes down some. My biggest concern right now is lighting up my baler and wagon so I needed something soon and affordable. Thanks again and take care.

Are these lights really that much of an improvement over halogens? It's incredible it could cost $400 for a pair of headlights. For that money, they better resemble the rising sun when you turn them on /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
