Hi. This is a power steering cylinder off my Oliver tractor. It is a welded cylinder not typically rebuildable. They are not available new so I cut it apart in an effort to rebuild it. I can get the front seal kit for it which is still available. What I need is a new ram/piston as this one is bent and the hard chrome surface is worn. So where can I get a new hard chromed shaft? It's 16" long and 9/16" diameter (.5625") with 1/2-20 threads on the tie rod end. I'm sure I can machine the other end to accept the piston side if needed. If nothing else, couldn't I get a length of hard chromed rod and machine both ends?
Hopefully I'll be able to TIG weld it all back together.
