I have a B6200 with a FEL. The grill lights weren't very bright and the FEL was in the way. I mounted a light on top the ROP, but it illuminated me and the tractor as well as out in front and made it hard to see. Where is the best place to mount lights if you have a FEL? Thanks for any help

The best place I have found is on the rops. Closer to the electrical connection and less able to be knocked off by whatever you might be carrying in the FEL. I mounted mine just below the rops hinge on threaded nuts already on the rops. Not sure what they were originally intended for but they hold the angle iron bracket I am using. I wouldn't drill into the rops however......

I mounted mine under the horizontal segment of ROPS - been two years now and the work great. They're high enough that I rarely look into them, yet they're somewhat protected by being below ROPS. When mowing on a fine summer night, I do tend to collect a swarm of flying critters. Just keep moving and they'll trail behind. It's only when you reverse course that there's a problem.

I had it mounted on the top of the ROPS, but it illuminated me and the tractor, Making it harder to see than if they were out front. Ill try moving them around and see if it makes a difference. Problem with them on the ROPS is that they are above and behind me.

Here's where I had them on my B7500. It looks like there should have been a dark spot in front of the tractor but they worked great. The best pic I could find of them working is this one with #3 Son clearing the driveway.

I put two sets of incredibly bright LED's on the top of the ROPS, two facing forward and two facing rearward for the winter snow blower. I mounted a switch box with two toggles on the reflector triangle and they work great.

Thanks for the suggestions. I making a mount that attaches to the FEL frame in front of the grill that will put the light above the hood, and adding another light that will shine behind the tractor.

If you have lights mounted on the top of your ROPS, try directing the light out to the side 15 to 30 degrees. This helps from having them shine directly at you, plus does a better job of lighting the work area around your tractor. You still have plenty of forward facing light....
