Kubota L4400
Just got a 16' flatbed to haul my L4400 around to some of our rent houses.

How and where should I tie it down. Chains? Straps? Thru FEL? Over Tranny?

Thanks!

.

The four corners of the tractor and any implement. That means the FEL and whatever you have on the 3 point hitch. Total 6 tiedowns.

Some guys use straps, most use chains. Either must be rated and marked.

Opinions are strong; arguements get heated. Almost as much as fuel/tires/oil! :D

What kind of load rating should I be looking for on the straps? Chain size?

thanks

3/8" Grade 70 chains and binders.

I'm no expert and likely did it wrong since I only used three points on my L4400. I ran chain around the axle housing on each side of the front and then ran one chain throught the draw bar bracket underneath the tractor and anchored each end to a corner of the trailer . Used ratchet chain binders.

Chains scratched the paint on the axle housings up front and now there's a little rust, but hey, its a tractor.

That's what I've done. Its worked each time. Never killed anybody. But that doesn't mean I did it right.
