Which 3-point mower to buy?

I'm new to tractors, just bought a Century 3045. I'm in need of a brush mower. Just wondering what to get. There's a bit of a price disparity between Bush Hog and some other brands. What brands should I consider and what brands should I stay away from? It sounds like Bush Hog is the way to go so far, but am I just spending more money for the name?

I'm looking for something medium duty that will cut 2-3" material, but mostly grasses for in between tree rows...and not crap out on me right away. I'm guessing I need the slip clutch.

I don't know much about the gear box. If it is a higher number, does that just mean its rated higher? I'm considering the Bush Hog 296, but it says 45hp is the minimum. Does this mean I need to run my 45hp tractor at full bore to run it effectively? Could that be overkill for my tractor at over 1000 lbs.?

I dont think brand is the issue. the weight of the mower 1000# is significant. Weight will change how the tractor handles not bad but different. Just how wide a path do you need to mow in one pass?
Im guessing a 6 ft wide mower just medium duty trying to stay under 1000# would be my choice. slip clutch or shear pin either is fine. My slip clutches rarely or never slip due to rust and idleness and the tractor is too big to choke off. If you need to cut a lot of big 3 inch wood best to use a chainsaw. We do back and push over bigger saplings and beat them up rarely cutting them just trying to make pieces that are easier to drive over. three inch thick saplings will do some damage to sheet metal and wiring.
The other option is something like a Brown brand tree cutter but you need twice the tractor for it.

I have a Rhino Twister 84 inch cut that is cat 2 3pt hitch.
Great cutter
but way to heavy for your tractor.
I use it with 80 hp or so tractors with weights or loader on front.
