Finally used my 48" First Choice tiller from Corriher last week...very nice IMO I use it on a Jd 4100 20HP/17 PTO
machine without a problem...
I find Corriher excellent on prices....
I have a KK 48" that I used on the 2200 and now on my 23. Workhorse of a tiller, busts up stones fist size and smaller real well, heavy made, easy to install with Pats system. I like it fine.
Just started tilling this Spring. Got a new KK 60" from TSC. My experience is very limited, but my 19PTOhp tractor turns the tiller through the clay in our garden easily. It does a very nice job. I'm pleased.
I recently bought a Howse tiller after looking at Bush-Hog and JD's brand. No TSC in this area. The Howse tillers are all gear drive and the other comparable tillers available around here were chain driven. The Howse was also about 200 lbs heavier than the comparable Bush-Hog model. Price was also better. I've only got about ten hours on it so can't speak of durability, but I'm pleased with it so far.
We sell more of the First Choice 48 inch with slip clutch for that tractor. Pricing is $1095 + $109 shipping to a 18 wheeler accessable business address in your state, in Orange color and assembled, lubed and ready to go.--Ken Sweet
3 or 4 years back I purchased a gear drive KK tiller from TSC. It also came equipped with a slip clutch. It has been a good performer and hasen't let me down yet. For the money I would recommend one.
Gear drive machines are fine, except where a application is required that has limited weight capacity for the specific tractor, Gear Drive tillers usually run 100-200 lbs heaver that chain drive and some CUT and Sub CUT cant handle the extra weight. We sell only gear drive in the 80 inch and up sizes--Ken Sweet
Ken I originally purchased my 60 inch gear drive tiller for a 25 HP tractor and never had any problems lifting or using it. I'm not sure what it actually weighs and I don't think I would have purchased it with less than 25 HP. However. My present tractor is 40 HP and I think I could go much wider at this point.

25 HP and FEL for ballast and 60 inch geardrive tiller will work well in most situations. You have enough tractor now to handle a 80 inch model--Ken Sweet
