I have a Kubota L3300, with a woods 165 FEL. Just recently bought a universal skid steer quick attach and a 60" root grapple. I have done weeks of research online and tbn forum. Question is can anyone tell me if there is a big difference In these two 3rd function valve kits? The first one is sold by Idaho implement for $437 and then the ever popular w.r. long for $837. I'm sure there is a reason for the price difference but not sure about quality difference or are they two totally separate items? Ive called the kubota dealer twice eaiting for a reply on what they suggest but ball park quote is $1200-$1400 installed.

I believe the WR long includes hoses while Idaho Implement does not. Not sure what the difference in valve brand or quality there is.

Neither of these will allow you to feather the third function.

Thanks for the reply. Would you call these both true 3rd function valves?

Yes this will provide a true third function since they are connected in series with your existing valves.

For running a grapple some people prefer a flow diverter valve in the curl/dump circuit. This way the joystick provides speed control over either the curl or grapple depending on which circuit is selected.

I went ahead and ordered the valve from Idaho Implement. I have not seen any post on this forum with any feedback on this item from this company. We'll see if it holds up I guess and ease of installation.

Well I guess I'm a day late and a dollar short (as my dad would say)

Just had a similar discussion a couple months ago about the pros/cons of a kit "less hoses" - it was a different mfg but same basic package.

The crux is that you can source all the parts yourself cheaper but you still have to Fab your own brackets to mount everything so depending on your time, tools, and skill it might be worth it to just buy the kit anyway.

I don't think you're going to be unhappy with what you have, looks like some good quality stuff. You should be able to get everything mounted where you want it and then use a piece of wire or a garden hose to route / measure for your hydraulic lines.

Good Luck with your project. Come back and post install pictures & your thoughts about the kit to help future folks.
