yes, get a 6 footer. It will cover your tracks and you will still have enough power to pull it full of dirt. My boxblade is one of my most used implements, Once you get one, you may wonder "how did i get by without this"?:thumbsup: congrats on another implement.:cool:

Thanks guys the 6ft is the winner so far and advice as to hinged or not? any brands to buy or to stay away from. I guess for me the easyest would be King Kutter as we have a TSS and a orshiealens right here.

I bought the hinged to put on my son's tractor but haven't used it. The neighbor kid really likes it though.

Buy the one that has the heaviest gauge steel that you can afford. Another feature is to make sure it has captured pins for lift points. These implements get a lot of punishment doing their job.

Hi,

When I was looking for a box blade (ended up buying a landscape rake instead.. suited my needs a little better)....I thought the best deal was to be had from Everything Attachments. The United Box Blades looked well made and very affordable. The A-Frames look robust and I liked the "clevis" stlye hitch points for the lower arms. The two blades are reversable and curved. I thought they seamed to be better made then a KK or something similar.

Of course, I'm in their 1,000 mile "free shipping zone".. so that really attracted me to their products (we all know shipping can be a deal breaker on these things). But, wouldnt hurt to ask how much shipping would be if your outside the free shipping zone.

They have two that could work for you..

One is a 5.5' blade.. just covering your tractor's rear wheel width. A tad smaller then the 6', but if your worried about being able to pull it.. then perhaps the smaller foot-print will help? (LINK)

The other is a full 6' model (Link)

Might be worth a look?

Well thanks everyone for input. Been looking at new ones at TTS King Kutter brand. Checked craigs list this afternoon and a guy had one about 55 mnutes from me called him he know much about it so i thought what the heck took a drive and he had a BB2566 Land Pride in perfect shap with a hinged rear blade and 6 rippers. He is retiring and selling everything Made a great deal on it and he loaded it on my trailer. Cant wait to try it.

I have a 54" KK behind a JD 850 and learn better how to utilize it every time I hook up. I use the rippers before I till to tear up sod, and have plowed snow with it on occasion although it can be a PITA if it is a lot of snow.

My 850 struggles when I get it full of dirt.

I have a 5" United behind a 225 and it has no problem, so a 6' model should do just fine. Land pride is quality stuff. I think you have done well. A box blade and a little skill and patience can do some fantastic work.
