Which inline filter for Excavator?

I want to put an inline filter on my excavator. The type with the see thru plastic and a valve at the bottom. I bought this one at TSC.

Is this suitable for a machine, or only for a storage tank? If this is the wrong filter setup, can someone point me in the right direction?

That filter is for a transfer tank. It has large 3/4" or 1" fittings. I am guessing your excavator probably has 3/8" or so fuel lines.

I don't see why it wouldn't work but you will have to really neck down the fittings.

Something like this DAHL DAHL 1 if you want to see in the bowl or one of these Amazon.com: WIX Filters - 24770 Heavy Duty Filter Mounting Base, Pack of 1: Automotive and one of these Amazon.com: Baldwin BF1212 Heavy Duty Diesel Fuel Spin-On Filter: Automotive would be a better fit for mounting on a machine.
