I bought a Genius Gen 5X3. I only got this one because it also does Lithium. I am switching to Lithium for my trolling motor. When the AGM's die I plan to swap them out for the lithium 100Ah I bought last year. Right now I use them for my electronics. I hadn't used/bought it for desulfication purposes but since it does, great. Mine charges my dual AGM and Lithium at once. Its a 3 bank charger I've had about 9 months now and about 3 months in operation. No complaints.

I think all the NOCO Genius line chargers have the desulfator mode built in. Even the 1 Amp charger. Pick one that fits your wallet and speed of charging. I think the 10 Amp is as high as they go.

I have a Noco Genius 10amp and 2 amp. Believe they both have auto desulfate but not sure you can manually energize that feature. With that said, I have been very satisfied with both chargers.

I'm looking for a new charger and considering the NOCO brand ones with a desulfate mode. Which one do you use or recommend?
Is this to maintain a battery that might sit idle for an extended period and you don't want it to self drain, or do you need to regularly recharge batteries that get significantly drained?

For the former, a 1 or 2 amp charger will do fine. For the latter you'll want to go with 5 or 10 amps. (For a large battery that is deep cycled regularly, I'd go with the 10 amp.)

There are two main lines of their chargers

Noco Genius series (scroll down at the link to see all the offerings) is available in sizes from 1 to 10 amps and also in multibank versions. They come with battery clamps and are mainly intended use indoors or under cover, but they are Rated IP 65, so resistant to water showers/jets - no problem if they are used out in the rain. I believe all or most of these also include a quick disconnect, so you can remove the clamps and connect to ring terminals hardwired to your battery. Unfortunately, they use a proprietary connector, rather than the standard 2 pin SAE connector used by just about every other charger manufacturer. They do sell and adaptor, so it is possible to connect it to equipment already wired with an SAE connector.

The Noco Genius GEN series are intended to be on-board, permanently mounted in the vehicle and are hard-wired to the battery via ring terminals (no clamps included and no quick disconnect). Available in 5 and 10 amp versions as well as multibank chargers. They are IP 68 rated so some pretty srious water protection (protected from continuous submersion in water more than 1 meter deep.)

All Noco chargers include desulftion and temperature compensation.

I have NOCO and CTek chargers. Both will do the job you require. Take your pick.

I also have a bunch of BatteryMINDer chargers of various models. (I have much more of them thn I hve of the NOCO.) All of them include desulfation and temperature compensation. Electrically, I like BatteryMINDer better than the NOCO chargers: mainly because the desulfation pulses on BatteryMINDers run full-time even when in maintenance/monitoring mode, while the NOCO units only desulfate while the battery is actively charging. If you never let your batteries get heavily desulfated, it's not an issue. However if you are trying to recover a heavily desulfated battery, with the NOCO you'll probably need to charge it partially drain it, then charge it again (possibly through several cycles). With the BatteryMinder, I can connect a heavily desulfated battery and just leave it for a week or two. If it's able to be recovered through desulfating that's all I need to do.

The down side of the BatteryMINDers is that most of them are IP65 rated. This is perfectly fine for typical portable use (same as the NOCO Genius series), but if you are looking for an on-board or completely weather proof charger, the NOCO GEN series IP68 rating is the choice, in my opinion. (the downside there is that the GEN series are less convenient for portable use due to being hardwired for ring terminals.)

The basic BatteryMINDer model 1510 (Their low cost 1.5 Amp maintainer) is rated IP 60 - so it's dust tight, but not water resistant. It should only be used in inside or in protected locations. I've put one under the hood of my tractor while it is parked outside without a problem, but I would not leave one mounted there permanently.
