I have 1 standard and 2 FD remotes on my Kubota. Which should be used for top? tilt? and left for extra remote?

Thanks,

Rob

It doesn't really matter much. They all end up functioning just about the same.

The real factor is how the levers are laid out. It has to be easy to remember which is which.

Right on! wonder why more don't go with a joystick for the rear remotes?

If it doesn't matter **much**, it must matter a little. And since all of my remotes aren't the same, I will have to make a decision on which to hook up to the Top-N-Tilt. So... Is float detent useful for top function? Is it useful for tilt? Useful for top, but not tilt or useful for tilt but not top? Since I will have 2 float detent valves and then one standard, please suggest which to use for the top, tilt, and then left over.

Thanks,

Rob

None of the full float positions will be of much use in a TT. (If we are both talking about a "float" position being an open valve with no pressure like on a FEL.) Adjusting a TT is best done in small increments while observing the results so the regular valve works fine.

You may be referring to a "floating detent" valve, or FD, which does not hold a position with a detent. If so, the tilt would be best with that since leveling an attachment is often the function of a tilt. Setting the correct plow angle is another function that requires careful positioning. Rarely does one have to go to the full retraction or extension of a tilt unless digging a ditch with a blade or box scraper.

What is slightly useful is a SCD valve (self cancelling detent) so you can fully retract or extend the TT without holding the lever.

The SCD valve is also useful for hooking to hydraulic functions on attachments so save one for that use. Raising and lowering rippers on a box blade is then more automated. It seems that hydraulic attachments often use fully open or fully closed cylinders - like when raising/lowering the traveling wheels on a disc. There are exceptions like when setting a specific disc angle.

Once again, it doesn't matter much unless a few seconds is crucial to one's existence.

After using the TT you can decide what is essential and move the hoses around if they are attached with quick connectors. QC are highly recommended.

I think the float function is useful for the top cylinder, for example when you're bush hogging you'd like to let the mower follow the contour of the ground instead of being held rigidly in position. Ditto for box blade. I can't think of a reason float would be useful for tilt, so I'd be inclined to put the standard on that. Unless you're valves aren't stacked, I would guess the hoses will be long enough to move around later to different valves. So if you change your mind you could move them to a different valve.
