Purchased TC 30 9x3 and need a rear blade. I did not buy any implements other than the FEL so my wife wouldn't come unglued. I'll sneak the rear blade in and she will never know the difference. I will use it mostly for snow removal and on my gravel driveway. I am looking at the 72" models but don't know what grade to buy (standard, medium duty, or heavy duty).

I love (absolutely love) my Corriher rear blade (made by Midwest). It is a tilt, swivel, offset blade and is the best designed blade I could find at any price, and the price is suprisingly affordable, especially given how heavy and how well designed the blade is. And, because Corriher advertises on TBN, buying from them supports this very site!

As for the blade itself, all the adjustments are made WITHOUT tools, you simply pulls pins make your adjustments, and replace the pins. It is great if you are working in a ditch or the field and want to change the offset, angle, etc. No chance of losing a tool in the field, the pins are large and easy to work & hard to lose. Seriously, the Midwest blades are top quality in both build and design and great prices.

I have the same blade as Bob and would second all of his comments.

My dealer carried the Bush Hog brand. I got the 72" version and it also tilts, swivels and offsets. I also got the 60" box blade and 72" rake.

The Bush Hog implements are very well made but to offset the back blade I have unbolt the blade, move it, then bolt it back on. If I remember right the Midwest implements have a pin to do this. Much easier.

Rodger

On Edit: buy the heaviest duty you can afford

I did a lot of looking at rear blades and settled on the Midwest RB22-60. It is very high quality, and the no-tools tilt, swivel, and offset is great. The price couldn't be beat either. I did not get mine from Corriher simply because they didn't have the color I wanted in stock. To get the color I wanted, I went directly to Midwest, and got the rear blade and their rake, delivered, for a great price.

I would add my vote in for the Midwest blade or one of the rebranded versions of that blade. I got the RB22-60 blade for my BX23 from a Kioti dealer because I wanted one in orange and they were the only place that had them in stock that I could find up here in New England. I looked at a bunch of different manufacturers blades and the Midwest was the only one I could find that did the tilt, offset, and swivel without tools being involved. I was going to buy from Corriher until I realized that Kioti had the same thing in orange. You have a nice blue tractor so Corriher would be a good choice!

I have a 5', 300 series(mid duty) Rhino blade with all the bells and whistles as Bob's and weighs in at 270 lbs. It's constuction in visual comparrison to KK's I've seen at TSC doesn't compare. Can't remember what I paid but I thought it reasonable at the time. Haven't seen any other's in person to compare them.

Also got a 5' Rhino BB when I bought my new tractor and it's construction is the same but I think he told me retail on that was 650 which, if anyone can confirm, I think is on the higher side. Don't remember what I paid though.

Regards,
Kevin

You should get the heaviest duty blade that you can afford. It doesn't pay to go cheap on this type of implement. They will be used in one of the most abusive ways that an implement can be (digging, and pushing stuff). My neighbor has a cheap Hawkline blade that while usable has very light construction, and bends and twists as you are using it. This is very frustrating, and makes getting the work done harder than it needs to be. If all you were ever going to use it for is snow removal it would be fine, it's not very good at digging in medium to hard dirt though, just too flimsy.

I'm in the marker for a rear blade also and interested in the Midwest. However, I whnever I do a search for them on the internet it comes up blank. How do I get in contact with them and, more importantly, get information and pictures of their product? Thanks.

Matt

<edit> Scratch that, I changes my search and found their site.
